Bucket List Celebration, Omaha – Sunday, October 8 @ 2 PM CST
What makes you feel proud?
Writing I Killed Mom and Other Lies: A Memoir of Early Loss was my #1 bucket list item for nearly a decade. I’m thrilled to have finished this beautiful book! So, with the help of some generous friends, I’m hosting a free party to celebrate. You’re invited!
What to expect:
- A casual get-together at a beautiful home south of the Old Market
- Plant-based snacks and non-alcoholic drinks
- Opportunities to connect with new friends, like sharing and seeking support for your own bucket list dreams
- A look at the book via photographs and physical Mom Box mementos
- Both of my books will be available for sale (or you can pre-order an ebook)
- We’ll wrap up at 3:30 PM
Registration is required. Fill out this form to join us.
Shout out to the Blue Barn Theatre for letting us use their parking lot for the afternoon!

Loss Writing Circle, Lincoln – Saturday, October 21 @ 2 PM CST
Grief experts agree that crafting and sharing our stories of loss helps us to fully grieve. Listening, too, helps us feel validated and connected. Join me for an intimate and inclusive writing circle on loss.
Our Topic: Helpers. No one grieves alone. Who has helped you through hard times of loss? Friends, strangers, animals, your creator? How have you helped others? What does helping even look like?
The afternoon will be structured but casual. No writing experience is expected. Bring something to write with, such as a notebook and pen.
Agenda (2-4 PM, closing the circle at 3:30)
- Opening the circle (Selected quotes)
- Quick write (Quiet time to journal)
- Optional share (You can read nothing, a little, or a lot)
- Closing the circle
- Optional mingling
This event is FREE and happening at Mourning Hope, 1311 South Folsom Street, Lincoln, NE 68522.
Registration is encouraged. Fill out this form to join us.
